Mind~Body~Voice

A pathway to vocal embodiment:

Get to know your own voice and develop a more mindful and intuitive relationship with your instrument. By releasing tension, and learning to focus on a few, simple elements of healthy singing, you can learn to relax and truly enjoy exploring and developing your true voice.

As a jazz vocalist, I enjoy using improvisation as a practice tool to guide and inform vocal technique, ear-training, and creative expression.

Testimonials

Connect to your breath

Calm your nervous system and access a state of safety and connection. Release fear and tension. Build strong vocal support and deeper control of your instrument.

“Aria is a natural teacher. She takes you from where you’re at and builds from there. What I love about her teaching style is that she is very holistic in her approach; starting with body warm-ups and then offering you tips for remembering how to use your breath and voice correctly. From the body and singing warm-ups to learning the music, she’s patient, kind, and spot-on when there are problems.” —Lynn Chapman, voice student, life coach, and health educator

“Aria provided vocal lessons for my daughter, Jaymie. We found her to be an outstanding teacher who helped Jaymie build her confidence in her singing ability, build the lower part of her range, and learn more about the jazz style. Jaymie looked forward to every lesson and came out with very tangible items to practice to improve her singing. Additionally, Aria’s easygoing personality and relational skills put Jaymie at ease right away. We would highly recommend her teaching to anyone looking for an outstanding vocal teacher.”

—Anne, mother of vocal student Jaymie (age 16)

“Having taken my first lesson with Aria, I couldn’t be more pleased. I’m a beginning-level singer who needs assistance on the most basic levels and arrived nervous about taking lessons. Aria made me feel comfortable about where I was in my study, and her encouragement and easygoing manner really put me at ease. The first lesson included simple breathing exercises that have been very helpful.”

—Cliff, beginning voice student
